 Alfred & Elisabeth EschwéPiano four hands Elisabeth and Alfred Eschwé were born into an musical family in Vienna. They received their first piano instructions from their grandmother Valerie Eschwé, a Hungarian pianist and pedagogue, but soon continued their studies with Prof. Margareta Heeger and Djanko Iliew at the Conservatory in Vienna. They had their first public appearance as a piano duo in the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation, when they were eight and ten years old. Many concerts followed during their school days and early student years at the Conservatory. After pursuing separate careers they reunited as the Vienna Piano Duo in 1997. Elisabeth and Alfred have specialized in playing four-handed pieces of the Viennese classical and romantic periods, and orchestra pieces arranged for piano duo by the composers, e.g. Smetana's "Moldau". |
